Colorado is packed full of some really stellar butterfly gardens. Which is why we want to help you narrow down your search. We’ve compiled some of our favorites you’ll want to try the next time you want to see something truly amazing.

1) Chatfield Farms

A part of the Denver Botanic Gardens, Chatfield Farms is home to a stunning native butterfly exhibit. Running from the end of May to the beginning of September, this is a perfect summer activity. Here you’ll see hundreds of native butterflies, such as swallowtails, mourning cloaks, and so much more. You won’t want to miss out on checking out this amazing gardens full of beautiful butterflies.

2) The Gardens on Spring Creek

Featuring between 400 and 600 free-flying butterflies and moths, The Butterfly House at The Gardens on Spring Creek is a spectacular place to see. Here you can explore the tropical oasis all while getting up close to both the butterflies and plants throughout the space. Plan your visit to see butterflies emerge from their chrysalises as well as caterpillar displays. As well as more than 100 varieties of tropical plants.

3) Butterfly Pavilion

When you visit the Butterfly Pavilion, the first stop we always recommend is the butterflies. Here you’ll be able to be among the free-flying butterflies in the tropical paradise. You can explore the 7,200 square-foot tropical rainforest where you can see countless butterflies. But that’s not all you should check out when you come. Whether you want to see live chrysalis where butterflies will emerge. Or explore the incredible diversity of underwater invertebrates. You’ll find it all at the Butterfly Pavilion.

4) Western Colorado Botanical Gardens

With 15-acres along the Colorado River, the Western Colorado Botanical Gardens, has created a beautiful landscape filled with stunning gardens. From the Cactus Garden to Children’s Secret Garden. And along with those is the impressive tropical rainforest and butterfly house. Here you’ll find tropical plants and orchids as well as koi fish and tortoises. And of course so many amazing butterflies.
