Once a week for several months groups of senior citizens meet at apartments and Denver newspapers are everywhere along with scissors and magnifying glasses. Why? They are clipping coupons. Not for themselves. They are snippy for a cause.
They clip and stack by food or non-food product and expiration date. The sorted coupons are then bagged and boxed. Finaly they are given to Lorna Bounds. Bounds sends them to military families in Europe so they can save a few dollars at the commisary.
“I just wanted to find a way to say ‘thank you’ to the families because they make so many sacrifices,” she says.
So far this year, Lorna Bounds, has mailed 76 pounds of coupons overseas according to the folks at https://www.denverpost.com/griego/ci_18381655.
